Myself and James are planning to ride our Mamacharis (granny bikes!) around Kyushu Island to raise awareness and money for all those affected by the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. All proceeds raised will be donated to the Japanese branch of the Red Cross. If you live nearby then please sponsor us in person prior to our journey or by donating at one of the many boxes placed around Saga. About our ride.
We are currently planning our route, but we are definitely going to be cycling to all seven prefectures on Kyushu. Okinawa will have to wait until next time. We are aiming to cover more than 800 kilometers over about 8 or 9 days, from Friday April 29th until Saturday May 7th/Sunday May 8th.
